1. Million Dollar Homepage

Alex Tew was a 21 year old college student in Wiltshire England who didn’t want to graduate with student loan debt, so he decided to create a “Million Dollar Home Page”. His idea was simple: to take 1,000,000 pixels and sell them for $1 each in blocks of 10×10 pixels. Now he is a millionaire.

2. Letters from Santa Claus – Santa Mail

This was started by Byron Reese. The company sells personalized letters from Santa Claus across North America. Byron Reese sold 10,000 letters in his first year in business (i.e. 2001). His sales increased subsequently every year and he still looked for ways to expand his offering. He introduced birthday cards from Santa as well which can be ordered by parents for their children (10 bucks for every letter). The sales reached $1 million in 2005.

3. Goggles for dogs

Ever heard of these things?  Create goggles for dogs and sell them online? This outstanding idea made those who had the idea millionaires with shops all over the world.

Jason Wall is now a millionaire. Since 1998, Wall has been topping car antennas with happy faces, 8-balls and even cowgirls – complete with braids and hats. Then he started to sell antenna ball online.

5. Designer Diaper Bags

Rein with her husband, Marcus, designed  a custom diaper bag  big enough to hold a travel pack of wipes and two to four diapers. With more than $180,000 in sales for 2005, Christie’s Rein company, Diapees & Wipees, has bags in 22 different styles, available online and in one hundred twenty boutiques all over the world.

6. Online dating

PositivesDating.com is a personal dating and networking service for the HIV/AIDS community that offers both free and paid memberships. Visitors can log in to the site’s chat rooms, search available member profiles and communicate via IM with other members. Paid memberships allow users to keep in contact via e-mail and see who’s been viewing their profiles. Since beginning to offer paid memberships last June, PositivesDating.com has generated $60,000 in 2005 sales, with close to 2,500 members. Monthly memberships start at $14.95, while yearly memberships are $89.95. Projected 2006 sales are $110,000, and the two hope to have 50,000 members by their two-year mark.

LaserMonks.com is an uncommercial subsidiary of the Cistercian Abbey of Our Lady of Spring Bank, an eight-monk monastery in the hills of Monroe County, 90 miles northwest of Madison. Wow, real monks refilling your cartridges! Their 2005 sales were $2.5 million!

Actually, naming domain names for others turned out a flourishing business, especially, when you make the entire process risk free. 10. Full-body workout equipment ‘FitDeck’

Phil Black, former Navy SEAL and fitness instructor, invented the world’s cheapest full-body workout equipment, ‘FitDeck’, which is no fancier than a deck of cards. FitDeck consists of only ‘body-weight’ exercises – which require no equipment or special machines. You’re using your own body weight to stay fit. Selling FitDeck online for $18.95, Phil Black made in 2006 sales of $4.7 million.
